The C-17 Globemaster is the US Air Force's newest transport aircraft.  Designed to replace the C-141Starlifter, the C-17 has similar cabin volume to the larger C-5 with the short-field capability of the C-130.
The 2001 and 2004 Rhode Island air shows also featured a C-17 demo.
The 2001 Quebec Air Show included a C-17 demo.  The pilot was actually able to back the aircraft down the runway at an amazing rate of speed.
